I thought it'd be a good idea to look back on 2015 and write about it. If you're interested, click here! dsgn.io/thoughts/post/what-ive…

What are the things you accomplished this year?

This is a post from my dev blog on tumblr, please follow it here!

Copying and pasting my post on REO:

Now, not saying I'm going to embark on this idea (yet), just gauging interest. A guy I follow on various networks made his own social network (sublevel.net/explore), and it's kind of interesting. I'm not using my megamanbattle.network domain, but I *love* talking about MMBN (in fact, that may have helped me land my latest job, haha!).

Anyhoo, what do y'all think? Feel free to bring this idea to anyone else you know who loves the series.

I tweeted this to a few notable BN-centric Twitter accounts and got enough responses to make me think this is a worthwhile effort (and, this is something that people want).

I want to crowdsource ideas for this Network and you can let me know what you want to see, in the comments below. I will end this post with the ideas I have so far:

Description:

A place for MMBN fans and cyber futurists to discuss, share, create, and hang out

Framework/Platform:

Meteor is perfect for creating quick, responsive web apps. I've picked it up in about a few hours for an eCommerce project and was impressed by it. I intend to develop more Meteor apps in the future.

Specifications:

Should be useable without JavaScript. Meteor is a JavaScript framework, so this might be an issue...I came up with this spec before I decided upon the framework to use. In any case, there'll be a warning for users who have JavaScript disabled.

Features:

* Automatically categorize posts in the global feed based on content with or without hashtags

* The categories are BN1, BN2, BN3, BN4, BN4.5, BN5, BN6, Network Transmission, BattleChips, and NetBattling. Of course, more categories will come.

* Progressive graphics interface, determined by user's Internet connection speed/platform. For example, if you have dial-up speeds, you will see a very simplistic version of the site. If you have FiOS-like speeds, you will have a more fancy experience.

* User's profile is their HP (homepage)! Use Isomer?

Questions:

* When logging in, why not choose where you want to go rather than be placed in the general feed. Why not land on your homepage? Custom parameter in settings? Keyboard shortcuts while "jacking-in"?

* Mr Prog integration? A.I. moderators with capabilities to block/ban offensive users

I am currently working at a tech startup in Cambridge, MA. I am also working on the redesign of my audio portfolio, "FRSH+BTS" (see WIPs here). I am finally getting some code underway for my "hikari OS" project (placeholder site). I am working on creating tunes for my annual "Music from the Love Lounge" album (listen/download to the previous 3 — 1/2/3).

Annnnnd, I've come to the conclusion that I hate strongly dislike using WordPress. It comes with too much stuff and I feel like I should create my own CMS, so that's yet another project for me to work on.

Never fear though! I am very much active on sites like Twitter and Dribbble.

Till next time!

I have had what felt like an extremely long year, with life-changing events a-plenty. But, that is not the point of this post.

I was reading a blog post by the incredible talented Shaun Inman. In it, he listed all of the products he released throughout 2011. Simply put, the guy is a one-man factory of ideas. I was inspired by his blog post, so I decided to do the same:

+ DSGN* Not only did I completely redesign the site (for the umpteenth time), I came up with a fantastic new logo and spent more time on getting things right design-wise, rather than releasing the first thing that comes out of Photoshop.

+ FRSH+BTS See above. I also gained a good amount of fans in Japan for the Facebook page of FRSH+BTS.

+ Rainbow Fragments I set out to design a display font, and I released it after much confusion. Creating a font is not easy (this should be obvious), and I learned a lot during the process. My font was featured on a couple of design websites as well. I found this incredibly flattering for my initial try at something so epic.

+ New Job I start an apprenticeship on January 3rd at a web design and development studio here in Boston. I am going to be taught Ruby On Rails, how to code JavaScript from scratch, and anything else I have been wondering how to do. Which is, pretty much everything. I am very much excited, and I feel like this is an opportunity I have been waiting for since I discovered/realized I wanted to work for myself.

In addition to these things, I have learned how to accept criticism to improve my work via sites like Forrst, I created a business plan for some great things I will release this year, I am collaborating with close friends on a variety of awesome media-related things, my overall skills in general (in regards to music/design/code) have improved significantly, and I found the love of my life.

I am looking forward to writing an even more impressive list January 1st, 2013.

The title of this journal is how you pronounce my latest project, "WeÖm". The project is a collaboration with a good friend of mine and we aim to create Cosmic Media Broadcasts for Intergalactic Sensory Consumption. Yeah, it's like that.

Here's a sneak peek in video form: vimeo.com/24210919 / Tell me what you think!
